National Recovery Month: Recovery Benefits EveryoneSeptember marks the 22nd annual National Recovery Month, which spreads the message that treatment for substance abuse is effective, recovery is possible, and that all individuals have the fundamental and inherent value to be accepted and treated with respect, dignity, and worth. This month’s theme is Recovery Benefits Everyone emphasizing that when people overcome the disease of addiction their family, friends, coworkers, and community benefit. Join us this month in spreading awareness of National Recovery Month and help us reduce the stigma of substance abuse. View and share our Recovery Benefits Everyone infographic that explains some of the facts and figures of substance abuse and how Meta House is working toward helping women reclaim their lives and rebuild their families. Recovery, a lifelong process, is possible when effective treatment is accessible for those who need it. Recent studies suggest that 76% of Americans know someone who has struggled with the disease of addiction. This Recovery Month, please consider reaching out to someone you know who is living in recovery and encourage them in their journey. Recently Meta House was proud to welcome the First Lady of Wisconsin, Tonette Walker, for a visit to our facility. She got to see firsthand the change taking place in the lives of women and children, and heard the powerful testimony of one of our clients who is reclaiming her life and rebuilding her family with the help of Meta House’s comprehensive treatment program.
