Awards & Achievements
Meta House is considered a leader in the field of substance abuse treatment for women
and is proud of its awards and achievements. Addressing
the dire needs of women and children in Milwaukee, WI, Meta House has been a model for treatment centers across the country. Meta House has influenced the implementation of gender-responsive substance abuse treatment in many other programs and was the first program in the state to allow children to stay with their mothers during
treatment.

Awarded the 2008 Family-Friendly Employer Award by Metroparent Magazine. The Family-Friendly Award is given to companies or organizations in Southeastern Wisconsin that allow their employees to create a better balance between personal and professional life.

The 2007 A Day for Meta House video was recognized by the Telly Awards, the premier distinction for outstanding local and regional cable and video/film productions, for its excellence in Film/Video Non-Broadcast Production—Charitable/Not-for-profit. The six-minute video, created by Life Productions, Inc., chronicles the journey to recovery for three Meta House graduates and clients. |

Meta House Executive Director, Francine Feinberg, received the Champion in Women’s Health Award from the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation, Inc. and was appointed to the national USDA Maternal, Infant and Fetal Nutrition Advisory Council.
Recognizing the expertise of Meta House, the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Heath Services Administration recently requested that Dr. Feinberg speak at their national conference on the interface of TANF and substance abuse in women.
