1. Answer:According to a National Survey on Drug Use and Health conducted from 2004-2006, an annual average of 9.4% or 6.3 million women were in need of substance abuse treatment.

In 2008, Meta House served 311 women and 165 children.

Meta House focuses on treating the source of this pain and teaches coping skills to prevent the need to abuse substances as a way to numb pain in the future.

Meta House’s comprehensive program gives women tools, such as job readiness skills and increased literacy, to regain independence following treatment.

Meta House was one of the first centers to allow children to live with their mothers while in residential treatment.  Meta House helps strengthen the bond between women and their children through parenting classes, child care during treatment, and family therapy.
